Brookside Village

Brookside Village is located on Clear Creek, in Brazoria County, Texas. Angleton is just twenty-six miles away and the village is located just outside of Houston. Brookside Village first served as a depot for the Atchinson, Topeka and Santa Fe Railroad. However, it remained quite small. A highway map showed a few houses in the area in 1936.

In 1959 the village incorporated and the population began to rise somewhat. By 1961, it had hit 560. This number increased to approximately 1,535 by 1990 and the village was home to two churches, a school and a cemetery located about a mile to the east
