

Hillcrest Village is about twenty-four miles to the south, southeast of Houston, TX on State Highway 6 in Brazoria County. Alvin, TX is located just two miles away. It is a residential community that was developed during the 1960’s.
Hillcrest Village was incorporated in 1962 and the population began to grow. As of 1970, it had 358 residents. This number has grown to over 722 by the year 2000. Since this community is strictly residential, you won’t find any businesses in Hillcrest Village. However, this doesn’t mean you’ll be short of anything to do in the area.
Brazoria County is filled with historical sites, towns and plenty of attractions. You’ll be just two minutes away from Alvin, TX that is home to over 100 civic organizations and plenty of things to see and do. The Nolan Ryan Center is a popular destination for baseball fans and features a museum dedicated to this hometown hero.
The annual Fourth of July Celebration in Alvin is one that should not be missed and features and entire day of fun, food and fireworks. You’ll also be able to visit the Bayou Wildlife Park. This park features Texan plants, animals and flowers, all in their natural environments and it is a great stop for families. Also not to be missed is the Shimer Gardens, with yet another great opportunity to see some beautiful Texas plants and flowers first hand.
If you enjoy bird watching, the Great Texas Coastal Birding Trail is also located in Alvin. This trail is a favorite with bird watchers from all over the country and is a great place to start if you’ve never tried bird watching before.
If your tastes are more into action, you’ll have to stop by the Texas Thunder Speedway, which is also located nearby. You’ll be able to see exciting racing events, just minutes from your quiet apartment. Golf courses abound in this area of Texas and Alvin and Brazoria County are home to several.
The Alvin Opry is also a popular destination for many families. You’ll be able to catch some of the best country western acts and performances from all over Texas and the rest of the country.
Houston is home to great amusement parks, a Space Center, golf courses, race tracks, shopping and much more. If you plan on living in Hillcrest Village, you’ll be just minutes from all of this excitement. There are several stores, great restaurants and museums located all throughout Houston.
Living in a residential community has several advantages. The crime rate is lower, the atmosphere is quieter and the people are very friendly. If you plan to work in Houston, Hillcrest Village is a great place to rent an apartment, just minutes outside of the city.
