Hunter's Creek Village

If you’re looking for a nice suburban community just outside of Houston, Hunter’s Creek Village can be found in Harris County, TX. You’ll find Hunter’s Creek Village to the south of Interstate Highway 10 and US Highway 90, right in between Piney Point Village and Hillshire Village.

Hunter’s Creek Village is different from many suburban developments in that it actually has some historical data available. In the first recorded events in this area, we find that German farmers first settled the region in the late 1800’s.

These farmers built the first sawmills in the area and a map that was drawn in 1936 shows that there were a number of houses, mills and more at what is now the townsite. Over the years, more people settled in Hunter’s Creek Village and the town was incorporated in 1954. They selected a mayor-council form of city government. By 1966, there was a church and a school and the population was estimated at around 2,478 people.

This number went up in the 1970’s and was reported at bring close to 4,580 in 1980. This figure dipped a little during the 1980’s but as of 1990, over 4,598 people called Hunter’s Creek Village home. Unlike many residential communities in this area, you’ll actually be able to find a few businesses sprinkled throughout the area as well as schools.

The majority of the people living in Hunter’s Creek Village commute to Houston. It’s location, right on the edge of the community, makes it a great place to find a job, while still living in and enjoying the benefits of a residential community.

You’ll be able to find more than just work in Houston. There are plenty of opportunities for fun as well. The Astrodome is a popular spot to enjoy professional sporting events, and there are several other sporting fields in the area. If you like to golf, Houston is home to some of the most challenging and beautiful courses in the country.

Shopping is terrific in Houston, whether you enjoy visiting department stores for all of the latest fashions, or you prefer to find vintage clothing and furniture at specialty shops. There are many different jewelry stores, artisans and small shops where you’ll find some unique jewelry made in the area from natural resources right in Texas.

Houston is also home to many attractions for families. The Space Center is a common spot and features tours of what Mission Command looks like and it is a great place to learn more about our country’s space program. Astroworld/Waterworld is also located in Houston and is extremely popular with families. This is a great place to go during summer months for fun and to beat the heat.

Hunter’s Creek Village is a unique town with history and a great location. You’ll be just minutes away from the best Houston has to offer as well as the surrounding communities.
