Richwood

Richwood, TX is also known as Richwood Village and is located on Lake Jackson. State Highway 288 is nearby and the town is located in the southeastern portion of Brazoria County.

There is not much recorded history on Richwood, but it is thought that the town slowly grew until it was included with several other towns and cities into the Brazosport industrial and port area.

Richwood is an incorporated subdivision without any businesses. The residential community had 649 residents by 1966, a figure which quickly grew to 3,057 residents by 1988. As of 1990 2,732 people called Richwood home.

Lake Jackson is a popular attraction in the area and offers great boating and fishing opportunities. If you enjoy water sports, you’ll feel right at home in Richwood. Since the community is entirely residential, it is a very quiet place to live and an ideal place to rent an apartment, particularly if you plan to work in Houston.

Brazoria County is home to the Brazos River, a waterway with much history. You’ll be able to find some great fishing in this area as well as many historical sites, museums and much more.
