

Just west of Seabrook on Taylor Lake is the community of Taylor Lake Village, TX. The town is in the southeastern portion of Harris County and is conveniently located near Houston.
This area of Texas was developed into residential communities during the 1960’s as Houston and nearby cities expanded. Many people began seeking suburban communities where they could live in a quiet environment and still easily travel to their jobs in Houston.
Taylor Lake Village was incorporated in 1961 and they selected a mayor-alderman form of government. Absolutely no businesses are allowed within the community due to strict zoning regulations. These regulations were put into place to keep the town a quiet, residential community.
Children of the residents of Taylor Lake Village attend school in the Clear Lake District, which is known for its excellent schools and teachers. In 1966, 640 residents called Taylor Lake Village home and this number increased to 4,254 by 1990.
The majority of the residents of Taylor Lake Village commute to Houston or are employed at the nearby Lyndon B. Johnson Space Center, which is also known as the NASA Manned Spacecraft Center.
Taylor Lake offers many different opportunities for boating, fishing and general water sports. You’ll be just a couple minutes away from a relaxing walk around the lake, or some of the best fishing in Texas. There are many different historical sites of interest in Harris County and the area is rich in Texas history.
Nearby Seabrook is an extremely historic town with roots back in the 1800’s. The main economy of Seabrook comes from shrimp fishing and it features great fishing and boating sites as well.
If you’re looking for a residential community that is close to Houston, Taylor Lake Village is an excellent choice. Although there aren’t any businesses operating in the town, you’ll be just a short drive away from Houston or Galveston.
Houston is home to the Astrodome and several professional sports teams. This is a great place to catch a football, baseball or basketball game at nearly any time of the year. You’ll also find some great shopping and dining opportunities as well as one of the most popular amusement parks in the country, Astroworld/Waterworld.
This area has been integral in the American space race and the Lyndon B. Johnson Space Center and Houston Space Center are great places to learn more about the history of our space program. In Houston, you’ll be able to get a glimpse of a replica of the actual Mission Control used by NASA.
